Merlin ships with five separate documentation books, each tailored to the person who reads it. The mechanical contractor doesn't need the BACnet object list; the facilities operator doesn't need the wiring diagrams. We respect their time.
Mechanical mounting of the bulkhead and Control Panel. Landing of the two field cables (one power, one low-voltage controls). Fan installation onto the bulkhead and IP54 plug-in to the QCB. The book the installer reads with the cover open on top of the cabinet.
First start-up, control-mode selection, PID tuning, Override matrix configuration, BACnet network setup, and sign-off procedure. The book that bridges from “installed” to “operating.”
Detailed BACnet object reference, full alarm code list with reset behaviors, and control-mode behavioral specifications. The reference companion to Book 02, written to be the one document a commissioning engineer doesn't have to ask Merlin to clarify.
Daily operation, setpoint adjustment, status monitoring, alarm acknowledgment, and Bypass switch use. The book handed to the operator at sign-off, in language an operator (not an engineer) can act on.
Preventive maintenance schedules, diagnostic procedures, fan replacement procedures, MMP reset and inspection at the QCB, and full alarm code lookup with corrective actions. The book the service tech consults from their truck.
How to get them
The five-book system ships with every Merlin order, in print and as PDFs. Wiring diagrams, the full BACnet object list, and configuration data are accessible through the Merlin Selection Software. For a project-specific submittal package, find your local rep.
